These checklists were created to help identify tasks that should be completed prior to starting your first semester at Prince of Songkla University (PSU) until your graduation.
Before coming to PSU
1. Online application through the Graduate School website https://grad-mis.psu.ac.th/admission/home.php
2. Faculty’s consideration to applicant taking some time at least 2-3 weeks, please keep up with any updated https://grad-mis.psu.ac.th/admission/apply_check.php or directly contact program/faculty staff
3. Letter of acceptance (LoA) issued by the Graduate School, please make sure to upload your passport file through our admission system. Other required documents issued by the program/faculty, you may directly contact your program/faculty staff.
4. Passport valid for at least 6 months from the date you plan to begin your studies
5. Visa application a Non-immigrant 'Ed' visa (Study Permit) at the Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate in your country
Reminder : Both Proof of vaccination, and proof of health insurance are no longer required. Any passenger having symptoms of COVID-19 on arrival shall be recommended to get a covid-19 on arrival shall be recommended to get a COVID-19 test at arrival. Regarding insurance policy coverage in Thailand COVID-19 may be purchased on willingness. Referred to Public Health Measures (updated on March 1, 2023)

6. Arranging international transportation to arrive at PSU at least one week before the term begins and inform your faculty about your arrival for picking up if program available

You may opt for accommodation either Student Dormitories or Alternative Accommodations. We advise you to finalize your living arrangements before arriving at PSU. For more information about on campus student dormitory can be viewed through: Student Accommodation
9. Academic arrangements and personal packing The following documents may be useful once you arrive at PSU
- Birth certificates for you and your family members
- Marriage certificate if you are travelling with your spouse
- Official academic diplomas and transcripts
- TOEFL scores or other English language test scores
- International driving license or driving license from your home country
* All documents in your native language should be translated into English and from English to Thai.
10. Estimated living expenses for 1 year study at PSU
- Accommodation (plus utilities and amenities) 60,000 Baht
- Books and Supplies 5,000 Baht
- Meal 60,000 Baht
- Health and Accident Insurance Coverage 2,000-5,000 Baht

Getting ready to start at PSU
1. Learn about the Student Information System
PSU uses an internet-based system for managing student records called Student Information System (SIS). You will use SIS to register for courses, but first you will have to receive a PSU Passport from your faculty. Once you arrive at PSU, the faculty will contact the Registrar’s Division, which will generate a PSU Passport for you. This Passport is your user ID and password to access the SIS system. Through this Passport you will have access to the university’s student system, where you can find your classes schedule, financial records, transcript and other important information regarding your study at PSU.
2. Health Care Service & Personal Accident Insurance
Kindly keep all important documents to present when you are in Thailand. During your study, we encourage you to seek a health insurance plan which you deem appropriate. Please see at: https://interaffairs.psu.ac.th/health-and-accident-insurance-for-psu-students

3. Tuition Fee Payment
There are two methods of payment and students can select one way via the Student Information System (SIS):
- Bill Payment System: Students can pay their tuition fee through Siam Commercial Bank Public Company Limited, Bangkok Bank Public Company Limited, or Krung Thai Bank Public Company Limited. The bill must be settled at least three (3) working days before the registration period.
- Direct Pay System: The money will be withdrawn online directly from the student’s Siam Commercial Bank Public Company Limited account. Students are required to open an account at the Siam Commercial Bank Public Company Limited and apply for an ATM card.
4. Financial assistance for international students
PSU offers some financial support for international students in the form of scholarships, which are available for graduate students. However, the number of scholarships is limited and the official process requires that your faculty must apply for a scholarship on your behalf, once you have been accepted as a PSU student.
- PSU-Ph.D. Scholarship
- Number of Scholarship: Approximately 10 per year or as announced each year
- Funding Value: Monthly allowance 10,000 BHT and tuition fee waived
- Specific Qualification: Thai and international Ph.D. students (international applicant must reside and do a research by data collection in Thailand only.
- Application Period: November
- Teaching Assistant (TA) Scholarship
- Number of Scholarship: 35 per year
- Funding Value: 30,000 BAHT
- Specific Qualification: Master students
- Application Period: April - May
- Thesis Research Grant
- Number of Scholarship: No definite number depending on the allocated budget and numbers of applicants
- Funding Value: 28,000-50,000 BAHT for Ph.D. /6,000-12,000 BHT for Master’s Degree
- Specific Qualification: Current Graduate Students must get the approval of the thesis proposal within the due date.
- Application Period: January - February
- Thesis Research Funding for the Topics on Community Problem Solving
- Number of Scholarship: 10 per year
- Funding Value: Not exceeding 50,000 BAHT
- Specific Qualification: Master student of plan A 1 or Ph.D. student
- Application Period: June
- Research Grant for Thesis from the His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa Bin Salman Al Khalifa Fund on Topics Relating to the Kingdom of Bahrain
- Number of Scholarship: 1
- Funding Value: Not more than 200,000 BAHT
- Specific Qualification: Master student of plan A 1 or Ph.D. student has the topics of studies which must be related to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
- Application Period: July
5. Arranging accommodation

Graduation and Commencement Ceremony
1. Conditions of graduation requirements
- Master's Degree Program
- Proof of English proficiency as required by the Graduate School
- All required courses have been completed with an overall GPA ≥ 3.00 EXCEPT Plan A1
- The proposal/thesis/minor thesis exam result is ‘S’ = satisfactory together with the completed thesis/minor thesis submission and also the Comprehensive Examination of Plan B
- The research has been published according to the requirements of the regulations/ program/ scholarship/other as applicable
- Other conditions as required by regulation, criteria and guidelines
- Ph.D. Degree Program
- Proof of English proficiency as required by the Graduate School
- Pass the Qualifying Examination
- All required courses have been completed with an overall GPA ≥ 3.00 EXCEPT Plan 1
- The proposal/thesis exam result is ‘S’ = satisfactory together with the completed thesis submission
- The research has been published according to the requirements of the regulations/ program/ scholarship/other as applicable
- Other conditions as required by regulation, criteria and guidelines
2. Submission an online request for graduation
- A student who is expected to graduate can submit an online request for graduation to the Registrar’s Division at https://reg.psu.ac.th/isr/
- The Registrar’s Division will check all the program details of students before forwarding the request to the Graduate School for the date of graduation.
- Afterwards submitting a request to the University Council for the degree’s approval.
3. Commencement Ceremony
- Announcement of List of Graduates
- Complete the employment status of graduates at https://job.psu.ac.th/
- Receive the graduation pin and academic gown
- Attend the pre-rehearsal, the first rehearsal and the dress rehearsal
