The five campuses of Prince of Songkla University are distributed across five provinces in the south of Thailand: Phuket, Surat Thani, Trang, Hat Yai, and Pattani. Depending on which campus you study at, the local culture may differ, but the university has compiled a brief overview of Thai (Buddhist) culture and etiquette which may help you to settle in and understand some of the differences between Thai Buddhist and your own culture: http://www.en.psu.ac.th/students/thai-culture.
Pattani and Hat Yai campuses are also located closed to the Malaysian border, and a significant part of the population is Muslim, adding Malay and Muslim elements to the vibrant cultural mix.
